On Tuesday, Hall Of Famer Kaname "Wally" Yonamine turns 83. Yonamine, a former San Francisco 49er and Seal, was one of the first Nisei (American born Japanese) players to play in Japan after the war and the first American born super-star. He also managed the Dragons for a number of years in the mid-1970's. He was the first American born manager in Japan and the first to lead a team to the Japan Series, falling in 6 six games to Lotte in 1974.
