I'm a little late in getting to this but last Sunday Norichika Aoki, formerly of the Tokyo Yakult Swallows and currently with the Houston Astros, got his 2000th hit in NPB & MLB. I did a post for Aoki when he left the Swallows for the Brewers back before the 2012 season so I'm just going to show some cards for him now:
Its really interesting that Topps would make a Japan card like that, albeit with one of the ugliest designs of the decade. Tadahito Iguchi retired today.
Every Thursday Topps issues six cards on their website that uses and old card design. They call it "Throwback Thursday". The Aoki card was one of a set of WBC players issued back in March. He was the only Japanese player included.

As much as I hate the 1988 Topps design, it sure does bring back the collecting memories.
