Inter-league play wrapped up last week and the Swallows were the surprise inter-league "Champions". It was the first time a Central League team had the best record during inter-league since the Giants did it in 2014. Oddly enough, however, the Swallows did not have the Inter-league MVP. That honor went the Masataka Yoshida of the Orix Buffaloes, who finished just a half game behind the Swallows in the inter-league standings. Yoshida batted .397 during inter-league with 3 home runs and 10 RBIs. He reached base in every one of the 18 games against the Central League teams.
