I meant to mention when I did my post about the new Professional Baseball 90th Anniversary set the other day that I had gotten a shipment from ZenMarket earlier this week with several new BBM sets in it. The second set from that package is called "Hawks - Fly Again" and it celebrates the Hawks winning their first Pacific League pennant since 2020.
It's a 46 card box set that, as always, contains a 45 card base set along with a "premium insert card" which could be an autographed card or a "foil sign" card. As always, I got an opened set with just the base set.
The base set is split into three parts. There are 27 "regular" player cards, nine "2024 Season Highlights" cards and nine "Team Set Update" cards.
The "regular" player cards feature the most significant players from the 2024 Hawks team and include pretty much who you'd expect - Yuki Yanagita, Kensuke Kondoh, Ryoya Kurihara, Takuya Kai, Kenta Imamiya, Kohei Arihara, Carter Stewart, Ukyo Shuto, Darwinzon Hernandez, etc. It does not include manager Hiroki Kokubo but it does include Tsuyoshi Wada. The photos are decent if a little too heavy on the standard "pitchers pitching, batters batting" theme. Here's a couple examples - I tried to pick a couple of the more interesting photos:

The "2024 Season Highlights" subset is kind of self-explanatory. These feature nine significant games from the part season, including their pennant clinching win on September 23rd. I was very happy to see that their 21-0 shellacking of the Eagles that I attended at Fukuoka Dome in May was included in the subset:

The final subset of the set was the main selling point of it for me. There were nine players that the Hawks added to their roster either late in spring training or during the season. Eight of these were players who had been on their ikusei roster and the other was Jeter Downs, who signed with the team just before the July 31st deadline. Since BBM's Hawks team set this year was the first one published (in late March), none of these players were included in it. So the "Team Set Update" subset is just that - an update to the Hawks team set that includes all nine of the players. The subset is numbered separately from the rest of the set. The other cards are numbered 01-36 but these cards are numbered 82-90 to be a continuation of the team set checklist. Here's Jeter Down's card:

I probably wouldn't have bought the set without that last subset but it's not a bad little set if you're a Hawks fan. Although I'm not sure if you'd care about the last subset if you didn't already have the Hawks team set. Again, maybe this is just a set for Hawks fans. You can look at all the cards over at Jambalaya to decide for yourself.
