Going home

My flight home leaves in about nine hours and I need to finish packing up.  It's been an amazing trip, filled with great baseball and interesting experiences.  I hit 10 different card shops and managed to reduce my single card want list from around 200 cards to 16!  I also managed to pick up a number of sets that I'd been looking for on the super cheap side.  And of course, I bought a lot of cool cards that weren't officially on my want list, but once I saw them, I had to have them.

I'll be writing up stuff about the trip in the next few weeks, but I did want to post a couple quick pictures for something that I did yesterday.  I went to Yokohama for a Baystars-Dragons match up and discovered that this year's Calbees were on sale at the ballpark.  So of course, I bought a bag (only 100 yen) and opened it:

The best part is that in the distance above the card of Motonobu Tanishige, you can see the real Motonobu Tanishige.

can't wait to learn more about your trip. That's a cool last shot with the real Motonobu Tanishige in the background behind his card.

Wish I could find those Calbee packs at AT&T or the Oakland Coliseum ;-)

@P-town Tom - thanks. I got lucky with what was in the pack. @Fuji - yeah, me too. Hell, I spent part of the morning looking for them around Tokyo station and couldn't find them anywhere. Not even at the Calbee+ store.

Sounds like you had a great trip, I'm also looking forward to hearing more details.

Since Calbee does sell some products in the US (I always see the shrimp flavored chips at WalMart), I wish there were a way to encourage them to export their potato chips to the US as well. I think they might be surprised at how well they'd sell in certain markets, unless import tariffs would jack up the prices to far.
