All eyes were on Osaka last Tuesday when the Marines took on the Buffaloes with Roki Sasaki facing off against his friend and Samurai Japan teammate Hiroya Miyagi. Both pitchers did well. Sasaki went seven innings, giving up one unearned run on five hits and a walk with ten strikeouts. Miyagi outdueled him, going eight innings and giving up no runs on three hits and a walk with eight strikeouts. Neither pitcher factored in the decision, however, as the Marines scratched out a run against Yoshihisa Hirano in the top of the ninth to tie the game up before Tomoya Mori led off the bottom of the ninth to untie it and send everyone home:
