For the past few years, BBM has included "color variation" cards in the pack for their "comprehensive" team sets for all twelve of the NPB teams. I'm not positive, but I think they started doing them in 2022. These are similar to the "secret" version cards found in BBM's flagship and Rookie Edition sets - a short printed photo variant of a base set card. The difference with these is that there's a difference in the colors of the ephemera on the cards as well.
This all would probably make more sense with some examples but for the longest time, I didn't have any. Usually when I saw them, they were much more expensive than I wanted to pay. But I had tracked down a couple a while back that were pretty reasonable and asked Ryan pick them up for me. They were among the cards I got in the box from him a few weeks back.
I now have three of these, all of which are from 2024. I'll show the regular card first, followed by the "color variation":

Like the flagship "secret" versions, the backs of the cards are exactly the same:

BBM's team sets tend to be kind of monotonous with their photo selection, so I'd kind of prefer that they use the interesting pictures on the regular cards rather than short prints.

I have a good topic for one of your posts. Apparently tariffs are going to horribly jack up prices for cards sent from Japan to the U.S. That's going to adversely affect prices, if not even wiping out the business.
I agree that that would be a good topic but since I'm no longer buying cards from Japan like I used to (although I'm waiting on a small package from ZenMarket), I don't know how bad this is going to be
Pretty sure Americans importing NPB cards are less than 1% of all product sold, and a lot of us aren't going to stop buying because they're now 15% more expensive.
It sucks yes, but you're wildly overestimating the importance of the American market in this
