Card Of The Week November 14

The Golden Glove awards were announced last week and Hanshin Tiger catcher Kenji Johjima won for catcher, becoming the first catcher to ever win the award in both the Pacific (where he had won it for the Hawks from 1999 to 2005) and Central leagues. He's going to miss the first part of next season due to an injury, so he might run into some issues defending the award. Here's his 2005 BBM 1st Version Golden Glove insert card (#GG2) commemorating his next to last award with the Hawks (and last award with the Daiei Hawks) in 2004:

And can someone explain why there was no first baseman named for the Central League?

Perhaps people weren't impressed by the fielding of Blanco, Brazell and Uchikawa, the only three first basemen to see significant action in the CL in 2010.

I didn't realize until doing a little more research on Yakyu Baka and JapaneseBaseball.com that one of the options on the ballot was basically "None of the above". Or maybe the voters are just leaving it blank which doesn't happen in the US often enough for it to win. (On a related note, occasionally there will be no one elected "Rookie Of The Year" - same mechanism apparently)
