Card Of The Week April 12

There was baseball this weekend!  The CPBL started their season yesterday...sort of.  The game between Chinatrust Brothers and Rakuten Monkeys in Taoyuan scheduled for yesterday was rained out as was today's game between Rakuten and Fubon Guardians.  But they did manage to play the game between the Brothers and the Uni-President 7-11 Lions in Taichung today.

The pitching match up in the game today featured two pitchers with Asian baseball experience making their CPBL debuts.  Former Fukuoka Softbank Hawk Ariel Miranda started for Chinatrust while former Nexen Hero and KT Wiz Ryan Feierabend started for the Uni-Lions.  Neither pitcher factored in the decision.  After each gave up a solo home run, both exited the game after five-ish innings (Feierabend faced one batter in the sixth before being replaced).  The game remained tied at 1 until the top of the eleventh - despite the Brothers loading the bases with only one out in both the bottom of the ninth AND tenth innings - before the Lions scored three runs and held on for a 4-1 victory.

I don't have any CPBL cards anymore but because the starting pitchers had played in NPB and KBO I have cards of both of them.  Miranda joined the Hawks late the 2018 season and as a result is only in that year's BBM Fusion set but he was in number of sets last year including BBM's 1st and 2nd Version sets and Epoch's NPB set.  The official KBO card sets don't include foreign players but Feierabend has appeared in all three of Dan Skrezyna's "Foreign Attack" custom card sets.

2019 BBM Hawks #H10

"2015" Vittum Foreign Attack #06
I have 2015 in quotes because while the set contains all the foreign players who played in the KBO in 2015, Dan didn't print up the set until 2019.
