Last Of The 2015 Sets?

A couple more sets appeared on BBM's website this week:

- The annual Rookie Edition Premium set will be released at the end of October.  This is a 38 card box set featuring 36 cards in the base set (3 rookies per team) plus two premium cards.  The premium cards range (I think) from a facsimile signature parallel of the base set cards to autograph, memorabilia (both jersey and patch), "photo", "film" and "booklet" cards.  This is the ninth edition of the Rookie Edition Premium set and is the first edition of the set to not be 48 cards in size.

- The Swallows pulled off a unique triple crown this season - the Central League leaders in the Triple Crown categories were all separate Yakult players - Shingo Kawabata  (batting), Tetsuto Yamada (home runs) and Kazuhiro Hatakeyama (RBIs).  This is believed to be the first time in NPB history that this has happened.  Coincidentally, BBM is putting out a box set featuring these three players called Swallows 3 Sluggers.  Each set contains 19 cards - 18 cards in the base set (I'm assuming six per player but that's just an assumption) plus one premium card which could be either an autograph card or a memorabilia card.  The set will also be out at the end of October.

In addition, Discount Niki's website added a listing this week for the first set from Sports Graphic Number since last year's Swallows set.  This set is dedicated to Yoshitomo Tsutsugoh of the Baystars.  It's a pack based set that I think has 45 cards in its base set and 18 additional insert cards.  The set will be released on December 5.

Niki also has information on the 2016 edition of BBM's "Historic Collection" set.  I'll talk more about it when BBM's website has the "official" listing for it but the new version will be called "Stadium Story" and will be out at the end of November.  I don't know if this means that there will be no more 2015 sets from BBM.  If not, I think that they will only have done about 40 sets this year, down about eight from last year.
