A quick post about two MVPs (and not the one you might have expected):
The Korea Series wrapped up last Monday with the LG Twins defeating the KT Wiz to win their first KBP championship since 1994 (and becoming the third team this fall to end the second longest current championship drought in their respective league after the Rangers of MLB and the Tigers of NPB). Shortstop Oh Ji-Hwan of LG was named MVP of the Series:

The 2003 Asian Baseball Championship ended today (less than an hour ago as I write this) with Japan defeating Korea 4-3 in ten innings in the final game. Japan had pretty much dominated in pool play, beating Taiwan 4-0, Korea 2-1 and Australia 10-0 with the Taiwan game being somewhat closer than the score suggests and the Korea game being the opposite. It was a bit of a surprise today though when Korea took a 2-0 lead, putting Japan behind for the first time in the entire tournament. Japan clawed their way back to a tie though and the game when into extra innings with a 2-2 score. Korea managed to score one run in the top of the inning so Japan had to rally from being down yet again. Japan tied the game on a Shogo Sakakura sacrifice fly and then Makoto Kadowaki won it on a bases-loaded, two out single. Kadowaki was named MVP of the tournament:
