Almost five weeks after they announced their licensing deal with NPB, Topps has finally released some information about their first ever NPB card set. The set will be released in early December. Boxes of the set will contain 24 packs of 14 cards and retail for 13,200 yen (~$120). It looks like the base set will have around 240 cards (based on their statement that there will be "about 20 players of each team"). There will also be serially numbered parallel cards, insert cards and serially numbered parallel insert cards. It does not appear that there will be any autograph or memorabilia cards available although that might change.
There's not a great deal more information available about the set. There's no sample card images and no checklist available. I kind of suspect from looking at the image of the pack that the cards will use the same design as Topps' 2021 MLB cards but I don't really have anything concrete to back that up with.
The Trading Card Journal's post about the set points out that there's no information about where you can buy the boxes which makes them wonder if it will only be available from Topps' Japanese website. It is not currently listed in Discount Niki's list of 2021 releases which is generally my go-to place for information about non-BBM or Calbee sets.

I'm a bit intrigued about this and might actually purchase my first pack of Topps cards in over 20 years. Would be nice if they showed some pictures of what they look like though!
